Voice actor management agency INTENTION announced on October 13 that it will dissolve on March 31, 2027. The Japanese company, led by representative director and voice actor Kenichi Suzumura, posted the decision on its official website and said regular management work will continue through the closing date.

Why INTENTION is closing

INTENTION said the decision is connected to Suzumura's adjustment disorder. In its formal notice, the company explained that a doctor had advised that his condition would not recover while he remained involved in management. The agency characterized dissolution as a difficult decision made in response to that medical guidance.

The company also apologized for the concern and disruption caused by the sudden announcement. It asked supporters to continue watching over the activities and futures of the performers under its management.

The announcement separates the company's closure from its immediate day-to-day work. INTENTION is not ending management operations at once. Instead, it plans to continue those services as usual through March 31, giving the agency and its roster time between the announcement and the scheduled dissolution.

That distinction is important for ongoing professional commitments. The statement did not announce cancellations, a sudden halt to talent activities, or immediate departures. It focused on the corporate timeline, Suzumura's health, and the agency's intention to provide as much support as possible for each affiliated performer's future.

Suzumura had previously stepped away from work after INTENTION announced in February 2026 that he had been diagnosed with adjustment disorder. The company later said in June that he would gradually resume work while taking his condition into account. The dissolution notice now places his health and withdrawal from management responsibilities at the center of the agency's longer-term plan.

What happens to the agency's voice actors

INTENTION manages a prominent voice actor roster that includes Nao Toyama, Yuichi Nakamura, Yuma Uchida, Aya Endo, and Suzumura himself. Other listed performers include Ayaka Asai, Natsuko Abe, Shoya Ishige, Shuichi Uchida, Natsumi Kawaida, Akari Tadano, and Kazuhiro Nakaya.

The company has not issued a public breakdown of where individual performers will work after dissolution. Its confirmed commitment is to support their next steps while maintaining normal management through the closing date.

Toyama addressed the announcement in a message to fans. She expressed hope for Suzumura's full recovery, said the bonds within INTENTION would remain, and indicated that arrangements for the future had been made. Her response offers reassurance about preparation behind the scenes, but it does not identify a new agency or specify how each performer's representation will be handled.

That leaves the transition as the practical focus of the coming months. Voice actors often have active commitments across anime, games, dubbing, music, events, and radio, so continued management through March provides a defined period for coordinating schedules and future representation. INTENTION has not said that its performers' existing roles are affected by the corporate decision.

Fans should therefore distinguish between the closure of the management company and the careers of the actors it represents. The announcement concerns INTENTION as a corporate entity. It does not state that affiliated performers are retiring or leaving current productions.

INTENTION's place in the voice acting business

Suzumura established INTENTION in 2012. Over the following years, INTENTION built a compact roster featuring actors with major roles across television anime, films, games, and other voice work.

The dissolution is notable because it involves an established agency whose represented talent remain highly active. It also makes the transition unusually visible: the company has set a specific closing date, publicly explained the health-related reason, and promised continued management and support before operations end.

For now, March 31, 2027 is the next confirmed milestone. INTENTION will continue managing its roster until then, while the future affiliations of individual voice actors remain to be announced.
