I Lost My Adventurer’s License, but It’s Fine Because I Have an Adorable Daughter Now will premiere on Japanese television in January 2027. A newly released teaser trailer and visual introduce the fantasy anime’s central pair, with Hiroki Yasumoto voicing Douglas and Yuka Iguchi playing Rabi.

What the October announcement confirms

The January 2027 window gives the adaptation its first defined broadcast timing. The production has not yet announced a specific premiere day or an international streaming plan, so the confirmed schedule currently applies to the Japanese television launch.

The teaser focuses on Douglas and Rabi, the two characters at the center of the story. Douglas is a formerly renowned enhancement magician whose fortunes have collapsed: he has been removed from the hero’s party, lost his adventurer’s license, and become a wanderer. His direction changes after he meets Rabi, a young girl living under a curse. Their encounter begins a journey built around the family bond that develops between them.

Yasumoto leads the cast as Douglas, while Iguchi voices Rabi. The accompanying teaser visual likewise places the pair at the forefront, making their relationship the clear focus of the anime’s early promotion. The trailer and visual were released alongside the broadcast window rather than as separate updates, giving viewers their first combined look at the cast, characters, and planned arrival period.

The television adaptation was first announced in January 2026. At that point, the project had only teaser art; cast, staff, and release timing had not been disclosed. This October update supplies those production details in one announcement and makes the January 2027 window the next fixed point on its schedule.

The staff behind the adaptation

Yuki Inaba is directing the series at animation studio Palette. Inaba is also handling series composition and scripts, placing the overall narrative structure and episode writing under the same creative lead. Kaori Yoshikawa is serving as character designer, shaping how the light novel’s cast will be translated into animation.

The anime adapts the fantasy light novel series written by Manimani Ononata and illustrated by Fuzichoco. SB Creative publishes the books under its GA Novel label. The property also has a manga adaptation illustrated by Fumi Tadaura, giving the story an established visual interpretation before its move to television.

The light novels originated as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro. Four print volumes had been published as of 2022, while the manga version is available through Square Enix’s Manga Up platform.

That source material follows Douglas after his former reputation and career have fallen away. Although the title foregrounds the loss of his license, the newly highlighted cast and promotional material center the emotional turn that comes with meeting Rabi. The setup combines a displaced veteran adventurer, a cursed child, and a slower new life that grows out of their shared travels.

For now, the confirmed next milestone is the Japanese broadcast beginning in January 2027. The teaser trailer, visual, two lead actors, director, studio, and character designer form the currently announced production package.
