Silime ("we", "our", "us") operates the website at silime.in and the Silime mobile application (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

2. Information We Collect

Account Data (Mobile App)

Signing in is optional. You can browse anonymously. If you sign in via Google, Apple, or email/password, we receive:

  • Email address and display name
  • Profile photo (Google Sign-In only)
  • Apple may provide a private relay email instead of your real email

We do not access your Gmail, Google Drive, iCloud, or any other service beyond the profile fields above.

Recommendation and Personalisation Data

If you use the For You feature, we collect your quiz answers (mood, preferred length, genres, favourite anime) and interaction signals (taps, dismisses, saves) to personalise your recommendations. This data is only collected when you are signed in.

Automatically Collected Data

  • Website: Pages visited, browser type, device type, IP address
  • Mobile App: Device platform, OS version, app version, locale, timezone, crash reports, and anonymous engagement events
  • Push notification token: To deliver news alerts (you can disable notifications any time)

The app does not collect your phone number, GPS location, contacts, photos, or payment information. Recent searches are stored locally on your device only.

Website Only

  • Newsletter: Email address when you subscribe
  • Contact form: Name, email, and message
  • Cookies: Essential, analytics, and preference cookies. You can control these via browser settings

Feedback

If you submit feedback in the app, the message is stored. If you are signed in, it is linked to your account.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Authenticate your account and keep you signed in
  • Deliver personalised anime recommendations
  • Display seasonal anime schedules and anime details
  • Send push notifications for breaking news and new articles (if enabled)
  • Send newsletter emails (if subscribed)
  • Diagnose crashes and improve the Service
  • Respond to support requests and feedback

7. Data Retention

  • Account and recommendation data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted after a 30-day recovery window when you delete your account
  • Crash reports: Retained per Google's Crashlytics defaults (approximately 90 days)
  • Push tokens: Retained while the app is installed
  • Newsletter: Until you unsubscribe

8. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your Silime account and associated personal data at any time through:

  • In-app: Settings → My Account → Delete Account
  • Email: Contact us at contactsilime@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account

Your account and associated personal data will be permanently deleted after a 30-day recovery window.

9. Your Rights

  • Delete your account: See Section 8 above for in-app and email options
  • Sign out: Clears your local session. Does not delete your account
  • Disable notifications: Any time, via app or device settings
  • Unsubscribe from newsletter: Use the link in any newsletter email
  • Access or correct your data: Email us at contactsilime@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days

Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under the GDPR, CCPA, or India's DPDP Act 2023 (including the right to erasure, data portability, and grievance redressal). Contact us to exercise these rights.

10. Children

Silime is a general-audience service. Parental discretion is advised as some anime content may be rated for mature audiences. If you believe a child has provided personal data without parental consent, contact us at contactsilime@gmail.com and we will delete it.

11. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed by our service providers in India, the EU, the US, and other regions. By using the Service, you consent to these transfers.
