Bandai Namco revealed the first official Sgt. Frog and Gundam crossover featuring special artwork and exclusive Gunpla kits ahead of the franchise's 20th anniversary film opening June 26.

Bandai Namco has announced the first official crossover between Sgt. Frog and Mobile Suit Gundam, pairing two of the company's most iconic franchises. The collaboration features commemorative artwork from both series' legendary artists and exclusive Gunpla model kits, all timed to the opening of a new Sgt. Frog theatrical film on June 26, 2026.
The crossover brings together Mine Yoshizaki, the original Sgt. Frog mangaka, and Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, the character designer behind the original Mobile Suit Gundam. Together, they have produced four special illustrations celebrating the union of the two franchises.
Yoshizaki contributed three pieces depicting Gundam protagonist Amuro Ray alongside Sergeant Keroro and other members of the Keroro Platoon, with the artwork referencing the iconic poster designs from the original Gundam movie trilogy. Yasuhiko drew a single illustration featuring Amuro Ray and Char Aznable linking arms with Keroro in a lighthearted composition that bridges the tonal gap between the military sci-fi epic and the comedic alien invasion series.
The collaboration extends beyond artwork into Bandai's flagship model-kit line. Two crossover Gunpla kits have been confirmed.
The first is a Keroro Robo Mk-II in a Titans color variant, scheduled to release on June 26, 2026 the same day as the film premiere at a price of 2,200 yen (approximately $14 USD). The second is an RG 1/144 RX-178 Gundam Mk-II in a special Keroro color variant, which will be available through Premium Bandai at a date still to be announced. Global release dates for both kits have not yet been confirmed.
The crossover is anchored to the upcoming theatrical release "Shin Gekijōban Keroro Gunsō: Fukkatsushite Sokkō Chikyū Metsubō no Kiki de Arimasu!" which celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Sgt. Frog anime franchise. The film is directed by Fumitoshi Oizaki at BN Pictures, with Yuichi Fukuda serving as script writer and chief director. Animation production is handled by BN Pictures, with character designs by Satoshi Koike.
The voice cast features notable additions including Tomokazu Seki, Natsuki Hanae, and Koichi Yamadera. The story sees the Gundam appearing to rescue Keroro's squad during a planetary crisis, blending Gundam's mecha action with Sgt. Frog's signature comedy.
Despite both properties sitting under the Bandai Namco umbrella for decades, this marks the first time Sgt. Frog and Gundam have crossed over in any official capacity. The pairing is fitting given the long history of Gundam references and parodies woven throughout Sgt. Frog's manga and anime Keroro's obsession with building Gunpla has been a running gag since the series' earliest chapters.
The film opens in Japanese theaters on June 26, 2026. International distribution details, including streaming availability, have not yet been announced.
