The long-awaited anime adaptation of Kyouko Hikawa's shojo manga From Far Away - known in Japan as Kanata Kara - has revealed its main cast, key staff, and a debut date of October 4, 2026, on Tokyo MX. Main Cast Lineup

Four principal cast members have been confirmed for the series. Tomoyo Kurosawa, recognized for her versatile performances across numerous anime roles, will voice protagonist Noriko Tachiki, the ordinary schoolgirl thrust into a mysterious fantasy world. Kentaro Kumagai takes on the role of Izark Kia Taj, the brave yet conflicted young warrior who becomes entwined with Noriko's fate. Rounding out the initial cast, Yuichiro Umehara voices Rachev, while Eiji Takeuchi plays Kaemos Lee Goda.

From Far Away will premiere on October 4, 2026, at 24:00 JST - effectively midnight heading into October 5 - on Tokyo MX. Additional broadcast windows follow shortly after, with ABC TV airing the series starting October 10 and WOWOW picking it up on October 13. Source Material

The original manga by Kyouko Hikawa was serialized in Hakusensha's LaLa magazine from 1991 to 2002, making this adaptation arrive more than two decades after the source material concluded. The story follows Noriko, a high school girl who is suddenly transported to a dangerous fantasy world. There she encounters Izark, a powerful warrior harboring inner turmoil. An ancient prophecy binds them together, as Noriko is said to possess a power capable of unleashing a great evil upon the land. Their journey through this perilous realm forms the emotional and narrative core of the series.

Viz Media published the manga's English translation, giving the property an established Western readership that has long hoped for an anime adaptation. The franchise's isekai premise, which predates the modern isekai boom by decades, offers a distinctly shojo perspective on the transported-to-another-world genre.
