Firefly Wedding Anime Unveils Ominous Wedding Key Visual
Firefly Wedding unveiled a ceremonial key visual featuring Satoko and Shinpei ahead of the anime's October 9 premiere.

The Firefly Wedding TV anime revealed a new key visual on September 6 during an advance screening at United Cinemas Toyosu in Tokyo. The image places assassin Shinpei Goto and noblewoman Satoko Kirigaya inside a ceremonial wedding scene ahead of the series' October 9 premiere.
A wedding image built around danger
Shinpei appears in a traditional kimono while Satoko wears a white shiromuku bridal robe. They sit facing one another and quietly share omiki, the ceremonial sake associated with a Japanese wedding. The official description calls the scene a false wedding between an assassin and a young lady, connecting the image directly to the dangerous bargain at the center of the story.
The official presentation emphasizes how Japanese beauty and an unsettling atmosphere coexist in the visual. That contrast reflects the relationship that drives Firefly Wedding: Satoko offers marriage to Shinpei after becoming the target of an abduction, while his devotion to the proposal becomes intense and unpredictable.
The visual was unveiled as part of a preview event that screened the anime's first three episodes. Lynn, Koki Uchiyama, and Kento Ito attended in traditional clothing and spoke after the screening. They voice Satoko, Shinpei, and Kotaro Ogawa, respectively. The event therefore paired the new promotional image with the first public look at a substantial portion of the television adaptation.
The presentation also gave the cast a chance to characterize the finished footage without revealing later plot developments. Lynn highlighted the animation's delicate look, direction, and music. Uchiyama emphasized how the sound design strengthened the horror, while Ito pointed to the force of the violent scenes, action, movement, and performances. Their comments reinforced the key visual's balance of beauty and threat.
What is confirmed for the October premiere
Firefly Wedding adapts Oreco Tachibana's manga, which is published by Shogakukan. The anime is being produced by david production. Takahiro Kamei directs, with Yuko Kakihara handling series composition and scripts, Yukiko Aikei providing the character designs, and NOGRID composing the music.
The story follows Satoko, a nobleman's daughter whose poor health has left her with little time to secure the marriage she believes will honor her family. After she is abducted and confronted by the assassin Shinpei, she makes a desperate marriage proposal to survive. His immediate acceptance transforms that lie into the basis of an obsessive and perilous romance.
The series is scheduled to begin broadcasting across Fuji TV's network in the Noitamina programming block on Friday, October 9, at 11:30 p.m. in Japan. Crunchyroll has also confirmed worldwide streaming as the episodes air.
With the key visual now released and the first three episodes screened in Tokyo, the next confirmed milestone is the October 9 television and streaming debut.
