Good Smile Company announced Jyuou Mujin Dandivine, an original combining-robot mecha anime by Liden Films and Kayac Animation set to premiere in October 2026.

Good Smile Company announced Jyuou Mujin Dandivine (Beast King War God Dandivine), an original combining-robot mecha anime produced by Liden Films and Kayac Animation. The series is set to premiere in October 2026 as the first entry in a new multi-year franchise.
Dandivine launches the "God of Combined Series" (Gattaishin Series), a franchise initiative from Good Smile Company that plans to debut a new combining-robot series annually through 2028. The project marks Good Smile Company's ambitious expansion into original anime production, with the figure and model kit giant leveraging its manufacturing expertise to build an integrated mecha brand from the ground up.
Plastic models tied to the franchise are already slated for distribution at Good Smile Fest 2026, scheduled for June 6-7, giving fans an early hands-on look at the toyline before the anime even airs.
Yi Cao directs the series at Liden Films and Kayac Animation, with veteran screenwriter Toshiki Inoue handling series composition and screenplay. Inoue is known for his work across decades of tokusatsu and anime, and he has described Dandivine's protagonist as intentionally "thoroughly boring" a deliberate character choice that sets the tone for the show's unconventional approach.
Majiro provides original character designs, with robin adapting them for animation. Mechanical designs come from An of GOD BRAVE STUDIO, while Yoshikazu Iwanami serves as sound director.
The announced cast includes Takuma Terashima as protagonist Gekiha Shijima, Haruka Shiraishi as Akane Kuzumi, and Saya Aizawa as Kirei Shijima. Takanori Nishikawa will perform the opening theme.
The story takes place 20 years after the giant robot Dandivine defeated a mysterious enemy force known as the Aposdolls. In the present day, Dandivine has faded from public memory and the toy manufacturer connected to its legacy is struggling financially. When the Aposdolls return, high school student Gekiha Shijima receives an invitation from his uncle to pilot the legendary robot himself.
The premise blends classic super-robot revival tropes with a self-aware nod to the toy industry fitting for a project backed by one of Japan's largest figure manufacturers.
A manga adaptation by TOGUCHI is already serializing in Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh, establishing the franchise across multiple media before the anime's October premiere. The multi-year roadmap through 2028 signals that Good Smile Company views Dandivine not as a one-off production but as the cornerstone of a sustained mecha brand.
With its October 2026 premiere, Dandivine enters a fall season that continues to fill out. Mecha fans will be watching closely to see whether Good Smile Company's franchise gambit can carve out space in a genre that has seen renewed interest in recent years.
