Hiromu Arakawa's Daemons of the Shadow Realm will begin streaming on Netflix worldwide on July 4 with new episodes arriving weekly.

Hiromu Arakawa's anime adaptation Daemons of the Shadow Realm, known in Japan as Yomi no Tsugai, will stream globally on Netflix beginning July 4, 2026. The series, which premiered on Crunchyroll in April, is expanding its reach with a worldwide Netflix rollout featuring weekly episode drops.
Daemons of the Shadow Realm is based on Arakawa's manga of the same name, serialized in Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan since December 2021. The story follows Yuru, a young hunter living in an isolated mountain village, whose peaceful existence is shattered when a dragon's roar echoes across the sky. The series dives into a mystical fantasy world where certain humans can control supernatural creatures known as Daemons, and twin protagonists find themselves at the center of a prophecy tied to immense power.
Studio Bones Film is handling the anime production under the direction of Masahiro Ando. The Japanese voice cast features Kensho Ono as Yuru and Yume Miyamoto as his twin sister Asa, while the English dub stars Ben Stegmair and Molly Zhang in the lead roles, with veteran voice actress Colleen Clinkenbeard among the supporting cast.
Netflix confirmed that episodes will be added on a weekly basis starting from the July 4 launch date. The series originally began airing on April 4, 2026, with Crunchyroll holding the global simulcast license and Muse Communication covering Southeast Asia. Netflix's pickup brings the show to a significantly broader audience, particularly in regions where Crunchyroll's presence is limited.
The first season is planned for two consecutive cours, with ten episodes already scheduled. Viewers who have been following the simulcast on Crunchyroll will be familiar with the early arcs, while Netflix subscribers will have the opportunity to catch up from episode one when the series lands on the platform.
Netflix India subscribers will be able to access Daemons of the Shadow Realm from the July 4 launch alongside the rest of the global rollout. Given that Crunchyroll does not operate a dedicated Indian service, the Netflix release effectively makes this the first convenient legal streaming option for many fans in the country. Weekly episode availability means Indian viewers can follow the series in near real-time with the rest of the world.
Hiromu Arakawa remains one of the most celebrated manga creators in the medium, best known for Fullmetal Alchemist, one of the highest-rated anime series of all time. Daemons of the Shadow Realm marks her return to long-form serialization, and the anime adaptation by Bones Film carries high expectations given the studio's pedigree in the action-fantasy genre. The combination of Arakawa's storytelling and Masahiro Ando's direction has already drawn strong attention during the spring simulcast window.
With the Netflix global launch set for July 4, Daemons of the Shadow Realm is positioned to reach millions of new viewers beyond the existing simulcast audience. Weekly episodes will continue rolling out through the summer season.
