The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat Season 2 will begin broadcasting in Japan in January 2027. The anime's official site confirmed the window on September 4, 2026, alongside a first main promotional video, key visual, and new character announcements for Lugh's next mission.

What the new reveal confirms

The September announcement narrows the broader 2027 release window revealed in April. It does not yet give a specific premiere day, but it places the sequel in the winter 2027 anime season and establishes January as the next confirmed broadcast milestone.

Season 2 was first announced in September 2023, and its 2027 broadcast year was set in April 2026. The latest update is the first official announcement to identify the month in which the sequel will begin airing.

The first main promotional video introduces Epona and Neusch, two characters joining the story in Season 2. Epona is identified as the Hero, a central role given Lugh's assigned mission, while Neusch is the heir of the Gefis ducal family. Sumire Uesaka voices Epona, and Yusuke Tonozaki voices Neusch.

A new key visual brings Lugh, Epona, and the Goddess together, placing the assassin, his target, and the figure behind his reincarnation in one image. The production also released updated character visuals for Lugh, Dia, Tarte, and Maha, the core group returning from the first season.

Kenji Akabane continues as Lugh, with Reina Ueda as Dia, Yuki Takada as Tarte, and Shino Shimoji as Maha. The cast update confirms that Season 2 will retain its established leads while expanding the characters tied to Lugh's larger objective.

The production team and story setup

Masafumi Tamura is directing Season 2 at SILVER LINK. Katsuhiko Takayama is handling series composition and scripts, Eri Osada is credited with character design, and Kenichi Kuroda is composing the music. The announced team keeps the main creative roles associated with the anime's established presentation.

The series adapts the light novels published by Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko. Its story follows a legendary assassin who is betrayed and killed, then reincarnated in another world as Lugh Tuatha Dé, heir to a family of aristocratic assassins. A Goddess gives him a new mission: kill the Hero prophesied to bring disaster upon humanity.

That setup makes Epona's formal introduction especially important. The new Hero is not simply another academy acquaintance or rival, but the person named in the mission governing Lugh's second life. Season 2's new material therefore moves a foundational conflict from the series premise closer to the foreground without disclosing how Lugh will approach it.

The first television season aired from October through December 2021. It established Lugh's reincarnation, training, magical abilities, and relationships with Dia, Tarte, and Maha, giving the returning cast a base for the next stage of his assignment.

Season 2 is now confirmed for a January 2027 Japanese broadcast. A precise premiere date and broadcast network schedule have not yet been announced.
