Wistoria: Wand and Sword has been greenlit for a third anime season following the conclusion of its 12-episode second season, with studios Actas and Bandai Namco Pictures returning to produce.

Wistoria: Wand and Sword has officially been greenlit for a third anime season. The announcement arrived on June 28, immediately after the second season's twelfth and final episode aired, confirming that studios Actas and Bandai Namco Pictures will continue their joint production of the fantasy action series.
The second season premiered on April 12, 2026 on TBS and 27 affiliated channels in Japan, with additional broadcasts on BS NTV. Over the course of its twelve episodes bringing the series total to twenty-four the adaptation continued to follow Will Serfort's unconventional path through the Regarden Magical Academy, where he compensates for his inability to use magic with extraordinary swordsmanship.
Season 2 also expanded the cast, with Mai Nakahara joining the ensemble as high mage Clairie Serah. Crunchyroll streamed the second season internationally with an English dub available alongside the simulcast, helping the series build a steady audience outside Japan.
The third season will retain the creative leadership that has guided the anime since its debut. Tatsuya Yoshihara, who directed the first season, continues as general director, while Hideaki Nakano returns in the director's chair. Character designer and chief animation director Sayaka Ono is also confirmed to reprise her role, as is composer Yuki Hayashi, whose energetic score has become a signature element of the adaptation.
The dual-studio arrangement between Actas and Bandai Namco Pictures a somewhat unusual pairing that has nonetheless delivered consistent visual quality across both seasons will remain intact for the upcoming third installment.
The anime adapts the manga written by Fujino Omori, best known as the creator of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, with art by Toshi Aoi. Published by Kodansha, the manga reached its fifteenth volume on April 9, 2026, giving the production team a healthy reservoir of unadapted material to draw from for the continuation.
No specific release window or episode count for Season 3 has been announced yet. Given the roughly two-year gap between the first and second seasons, a 2027 or early 2028 premiere would be a reasonable expectation, though the studio has not committed to a timeline.
Both seasons of Wistoria: Wand and Sword are currently available to stream on Crunchyroll with English subtitles and an English dub. The Season 3 greenlight ensures Will Serfort's journey through the magical academy is far from over, with the production infrastructure and creative team firmly in place for the next chapter.
