Kadokawa revealed a new key visual, MYTH&ROID's opening theme, and Aoi Yuki's ending theme for Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2, premiering July 8 at studio NUT.

Kadokawa has unveiled a fresh key visual, confirmed both theme song artists, and locked in a July 8 premiere date for Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2. Studio NUT returns to animate the long-awaited continuation of Carlo Zen's military isekai light novel series.
The newly released key visual spotlights Tanya Degurechaff in her iconic military attire set against a dramatic battlefield backdrop, signaling the heightened stakes of the upcoming season. The anime will debut on July 8, 2026, airing at 9:30 p.m. JST on AT-X, followed by broadcasts on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, BS11, and TV Aichi. For viewers outside Japan, the first season is already available on Crunchyroll, making it a likely destination for the sequel as well.
MYTH&ROID, the group behind the first season's legendary opening "JINGO JUNGLE," returns to perform the Season 2 opener titled "Why? RED induction." The band is handling writing, arranging, and performing duties on the track, promising another hard-hitting anthem to match Tanya's wartime exploits.
On the ending side, Aoi Yuki who voices protagonist Tanya Degurechaff performs "Weiter! Weiter!" The ending theme features lyrics by hotaru with music and arrangement by Masayuki Nakano. The German title, translating roughly to "Onward! Onward!," fits squarely within the series' European military aesthetic.
The core cast is back in full force. Aoi Yuki reprises her role as Tanya, joined by Saori Hayami as Viktoriya "Visha" Serebryakov, Shinichiro Miki as Erich Rerugen, Tesho Genda as Kurt von Rudersdorf, Hochu Otsuka as Hans von Zettour, Daiki Hamano as Matheus Johann Weiss, and Yusuke Kobayashi as Vooren Grantz.
Two notable additions round out the roster: Tomokazu Sugita joins as Mikel, and Yoko Hikasa takes on the role of Lilya. Both are seasoned veterans whose involvement raises expectations for the new characters' prominence in the story.
Studio NUT continues as the animation house, maintaining visual continuity with the first season and the 2019 film. Takayuki Yamamoto steps in as director, taking over from Yutaka Uemura who helmed Season 1. Series composition remains in the hands of Kenta Ihara, while Yuji Hosogoe serves as both character designer and chief animation director. The source material Carlo Zen's light novels with illustrations by Shinobu Shinotsuki provides plenty of unadapted content for the new season to draw from.
A companion mini-anime titled "Yojo Shenki 2" will air after each main episode on AT-X. The shorts will then stream on the Kadokawa Anime YouTube channel starting Thursdays at midnight JST, remaining available for two weeks per episode. The mini-anime will feature new members of the Salamander Kampfgruppe, expanding the world beyond the main storyline.
With theme songs locked, a stacked voice cast, and a concrete premiere date on the calendar, Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 is shaping up as one of the most anticipated military isekai returns of summer 2026. Indian fans following the franchise on Crunchyroll India should keep an eye out for streaming availability announcements as the July 8 launch approaches.
