Takopi's Original Sin will receive a theatrical compilation film titled Thank You, See You Tomorrow, re-editing all six episodes with newly added scenes for cinemas.

The official website for Takopi's Original Sin has announced a theatrical compilation film that will bring the acclaimed six-episode web anime to the big screen. Titled Takopi's Original Sin: Thank You, See You Tomorrow (Takopii no Genzai -Arigatou, Mata Ashita-), the film will feature re-edited footage from the entire series along with newly added scenes.
The original Takopi's Original Sin anime adapted Taizan 5's dark sci-fi drama manga of the same name, which ran in Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ digital magazine from December 2021 to March 2022. The manga became a social phenomenon during its serialization, earning nominations for the 16th Manga Taisho Awards and the 27th Annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prizes.
The six-episode anime premiered on June 28, 2025, streaming across Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, ABEMA, U-NEXT, and other platforms simultaneously. The series compressed the manga's gut-wrenching narrative following a cheerful alien octopus named Takopi who tries to save a bullied schoolgirl named Shizuka, only to spiral into increasingly dark consequences into a tightly paced adaptation that resonated with audiences worldwide.
The theatrical version will compile all six episodes into a single cinematic experience, specially remastered for theaters. The key draw beyond the remaster is the addition of entirely new scenes not present in the original web anime. Specific details about what these new scenes will depict have not yet been revealed, nor has a theatrical release date been confirmed.
The compilation format has become an increasingly common strategy in the anime industry, allowing studios to give shorter-run series a theatrical showcase while adding fresh material to entice viewers who have already seen the original broadcast. For a series as emotionally intense as Takopi's Original Sin, the theatrical setting could amplify the story's impact considerably.
The film retains the core creative team from the original series. Shinya Iino returns as director, with Keita Nagahara handling character design. Animation production remains at studio ENISHIYA, which produced the web anime.
The principal voice cast is also confirmed to return. Kurumi Mamiya reprises the role of Takopi, with Reina Ueda voicing Shizuka Kuze. Konomi Kohara returns as Marina, and Anna Nagase is back as Azuma. The continuity of both staff and cast should ensure the film maintains the emotional tone that defined the original series.
The manga's original serialization in early 2022 turned into one of the most talked-about events in the manga community, with readers responding viscerally to its blend of childlike whimsy and unflinching depictions of bullying, abuse, and despair. The anime adaptation preserved that impact across its six episodes, making it one of the most discussed anime debuts of 2025.
A release window for the compilation film has yet to be announced. With the staff and cast locked in and production confirmed, further details are expected in the coming months.
