Battle Spirits [Re] ZEKKAI NO KU will premiere in Japan on October 6, 2026, with Tokyo MX beginning broadcasts Tuesdays at 11:00 p.m. BS Nippon will air the anime at 11:30 p.m. the same night. BN Pictures revealed the date alongside a main trailer, key visual, expanded cast, and ending theme details.

What the new trailer establishes

The main trailer presents the series' period setting and card battles, giving the date announcement more context than a simple schedule update. The story unfolds in Hinomoto during an age that will later be remembered as the end of the shogunate, when groups seeking political change challenge the long-ruling government. That upheaval also reaches the world of Battle Spirits.

In this setting, Battle Spirits was traditionally played only by warriors who risked their lives in duels. A defeated participant had to surrender their life. The arrival of new cards and a new style of play changes that system, allowing anyone to compete without facing the old fatal rule. The story distinguishes the warriors' established format, called Eternal, from the more accessible Standard format.

Ku Bashin is a boy learning Standard Battle Spirits in the town of Eito. His desire to become stronger leads him to Zetsu Ajara, a traveling warrior feared as "Zetsu the Manslayer" and pursued by opponents of the shogunate. Their meeting pulls Ku into the wider conflict and puts the reasons for Zetsu's journey at the center of the story. The new key visual accompanies that premise and emphasizes the choices facing its characters.

The trailer footage combines views of that changing society with Battle Spirits action. The official introduction makes the parallel explicit: the political order is being challenged at the same moment that new cards are overturning who may enter the battlefield and what defeat costs. Ku and Zetsu meet at the point where those two changes intersect.

Cast, music, and production details

Taichi Kusano voices Ku, while Daiki Hamano plays Zetsu. Hiro Shimono and CANDY TUNE member Shizuka Miyano complete the four previously introduced performers. The latest update adds eight more characters, with Mariya Ise, Yasuhiro Mamiya, Nana Mizuki, Megumi Umezawa, Akira Ishida, Daisuke Ono, Jun Fukuyama, and Miyuki Sato joining the announced cast. Junichi Suwabe serves as narrator.

BN Pictures is handling the original work and production. Masashi Kudo directs while also providing the story and original character concepts, with Toshizo Nemoto overseeing series composition. Atsumi Koganemaru, Maki Murakami, and Takayo Nishimura are credited for character design. The broader staff includes dedicated leads for spirit design, art, color, cinematography, computer graphics, editing, sound, music, and battle coordination.

JAM Project performs the opening theme, "Here we are!" The newly announced ending artist is Himegoto, whose song is titled "Pulse." The songs give the project separate opening and ending identities as it combines the franchise's card battles with a historical drama framework.

BS Nippon lists the anime in a weekly slot from 11:30 p.m. to midnight. The two announced times are broadcaster-specific slots: Tokyo MX starts at 11:00 p.m., and BS Nippon follows at 11:30 p.m. The main announcement says additional stations will carry the series, but the available notice does not detail every outlet.

The next confirmed milestone is the Japanese television premiere on Tuesday, October 6.
