Sgt. Frog returns to Japanese television on October 3, 2026, with the new anime airing every Saturday at 9:30 a.m. across six TV Tokyo network stations. BN Pictures announced the date on September 7 alongside the first main trailer, a new key visual, and the five actors leading the refreshed Keroro Platoon.

The new Keroro Platoon cast

Makoto Koichi voices Sgt. Keroro, the would-be alien invader whose plans repeatedly collide with life in the Hinata household. Rika Nagae plays Private Tamama, Toshiki Masuda voices Corporal Giroro, Kosuke Echigoya takes the role of Sergeant Major Kururu, and Satoshi Inomata plays Lance Corporal Dororo.

This is an entirely new central voice lineup for the television project. In comments released with the announcement, Koichi acknowledged that a cast change may bring sadness or uncertainty for longtime viewers. She said she intends to approach Keroro with respect for the history already built around the character while making a weekly series that established fans and newcomers can enjoy.

Nagae said she wants to preserve Tamama’s combination of energy, cuteness, and explosive jealousy. Masuda described growing up with the manga and anime, then finding similarities between himself and Giroro while preparing for the audition. Echigoya emphasized the responsibility of joining a long-running work, while Inomata said he hopes his Dororo helps make the series something both existing and first-time viewers can enjoy for years. Together, their comments underline how directly the production is addressing the handover.

The trailer offers the first sustained look at this version of the platoon in action. It accompanies a key visual centered on Keroro and confirms that the new show is moving beyond its earlier announcement into a scheduled broadcast rollout. The premise again begins with Keroro coming to Earth to invade, only to be captured by Fuyuki and Natsumi Hinata. Abandoned by the main Keronian force, he stays with the family while continuing his frequently disrupted invasion efforts.

Who is making the new Sgt. Frog anime

Nobuhiro Kondo serves as chief director, with Akihiko Sano directing. Toshimitsu Takeuchi handles series composition, Hatsue Nakayama designs the characters, and Kan Sawada composes the music. Bridge and AISLE are credited with production cooperation, while BN Pictures produces the animation.

The series adapts Mine Yoshizaki’s manga, published by KADOKAWA under the Kadokawa Comics Ace label. The production information frames the new television anime as a fresh starting point around Keroro’s encounter with Fuyuki and the Hinata family, rather than merely presenting a new timeslot for older episodes.

The broadcast is currently confirmed for the six-station TV Tokyo network. International streaming plans and an episode count have not been announced.

Before the television premiere, the first two episodes will screen at United Cinemas Toyosu in Tokyo on September 26 at noon. All five principal Keroro Platoon cast members are scheduled to attend, followed by a special talk. That event gives the production its first public presentation of full episodes ahead of the regular Saturday morning run.

The next confirmed update is scheduled for September 14 at 5:00 p.m. Japan time, when the production plans to reveal additional information. After that, the advance screening on September 26 leads into the October 3 television premiere.
