PSYREN Anime Sets October 5 Premiere in New Trailer With More Cast and Opening Theme

The PSYREN television anime will premiere in Japan on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 11:00 p.m. on TOKYO MX and BS11, with Sun TV following at midnight. A new promotional trailer released September 11 also introduced two cast members and previewed the opening theme by CLAN QUEEN.

What the new trailer confirms

The trailer frames the anime around Ageha Yoshina's search for his missing childhood friend, Sakurako Amamiya. His only clue is a red phone card, a central object in the story, and the footage shows Ageha and other characters being transported to the ruined Psyren world. There, they are pulled into a deadly game and begin using psychic abilities known as PSI.

The production revealed CLAN QUEEN as the opening-theme artist. The three-member band's song is titled "WARNING!!," and part of it plays in the new video. The trailer was released on Japan's Public Telephone Day, tying the announcement to the public telephone and card imagery that launches Ageha's journey.

Yuhko Kaida joins the cast as Matsuri Yagumo, Sakurako's mentor. Nobuyuki Hiyama will voice Dolkey, an enemy who confronts Ageha and his companions. The accompanying key visual places the central group in battle poses while Dolkey appears behind them, emphasizing the conflict that awaits in the devastated setting.

In comments released with the announcement, Kaida described Matsuri as a reliable older-sister figure who enjoys drinking and said recording has been energetic with the staff and cast. Hiyama called Dolkey a direct antagonist and noted the appeal of facing the heroes head-on. Their remarks sharpen what their roles add: Matsuri as an established guide around Sakurako, and Dolki as an immediate physical threat in Psyren's battles.

The announced October 5 broadcast begins on TOKYO MX at 11:00 p.m. The official site says the series will also roll out on other Japanese television stations and streaming services, although its home page does not present a complete service-by-service international availability list.

The manga and production behind the adaptation

PSYREN adapts Toshiaki Iwashiro's supernatural battle suspense manga, which ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump from 2008 to 2010. The story starts when first-year high school student Ageha finds a red phone card left at a public telephone. Sakurako, who carries the same kind of card, then disappears, pushing him to investigate a mysterious organization linked to a nationwide series of unexplained disappearances.

That investigation sends Ageha into a lethal game connected to Psyren and a desolate future world. The new trailer highlights both the survival premise and the characters' PSI powers, moving between the initial mystery, sudden transportation, and combat. It gives viewers a clearer look at how the adaptation will balance the series' disappearance mystery with its psychic battles.

Katsumi Ono is directing the anime at Satelight. The previously announced leads include Rikuya Yasuda as Ageha Yoshina and Mayuko Kazama as Sakurako Amamiya. Shunsuke Takeuchi voices Hiryu Asaga, Soma Saito voices Oboro Mochizuki, and Yukihiro Nozuyama voices Kabuto Kirisaki. Kaida and Hiyama expand that lineup with figures positioned on different sides of the developing conflict.

The October 5 premiere is now the next confirmed milestone. Japanese broadcasts start at 11:00 p.m. on TOKYO MX and BS11, with Sun TV and streaming rollouts scheduled to follow.
