Netflix India will begin streaming both Horimiya and Horimiya: The Missing Pieces on June 15, marking the beloved romantic comedy's debut on the platform five years after its original premiere.

Netflix India will add the CloverWorks romantic comedy Horimiya to its catalogue on June 15, 2026. Both the original 13-episode series and its sequel, Horimiya: The Missing Pieces, will be available on the platform for the first time, arriving more than five years after the anime first premiered in Japan.
Based on Daisuke Hagiwara's manga of the same name, which ran for over 130 chapters, Horimiya tells the story of two high school classmates whose public personas mask who they really are. Kyoko Hori is a popular straight-A student who hides the fact that she handles all the housework and cares for her younger brother at home. Her classmate Izumi Miyamura, quiet and bespectacled at school, turns out to be a pierced, tattooed loner outside of it. When their secrets collide, a relationship develops that blends school comedy with genuine romance while exploring personal struggles and insecurities.
CloverWorks animated the original 13-episode series, which premiered in January 2021 and quickly became one of the most popular romance anime of its year. The sequel, Horimiya: The Missing Pieces, followed in July 2023, adapting scenes and storylines from the manga that the first season had skipped over. Together, the two series offer a comprehensive adaptation of Hagiwara's work.
Horimiya has had a presence in India for several years through other platforms. The anime first became accessible to Indian audiences via the Ani-One YouTube channel in February 2021, shortly after its Japanese broadcast. Crunchyroll later added both series to its India library starting in February 2023, and the original Horimiya even received a Hindi dub on Crunchyroll in September 2024. Horimiya: The Missing Pieces is available with an English dub on Crunchyroll India as well.
The Netflix India addition opens the series up to a significantly larger subscriber base. Netflix remains one of the most widely subscribed streaming platforms in the country, and its growing anime library has steadily attracted viewers who may not maintain separate subscriptions to anime-focused services. For fans who have been waiting for Horimiya to land on their primary streaming app, June 15 settles the question.
Netflix has been expanding its anime offerings in the Indian market over the past year, and Horimiya fits neatly into that strategy. The romantic comedy genre has a strong following among Indian anime fans, and Horimiya's blend of lighthearted school life with emotionally grounded character writing gives it broad appeal. The series is frequently cited alongside titles like Toradora and Kaguya-sama: Love Is War as a gateway romance anime.
Both Horimiya and Horimiya: The Missing Pieces will be available to stream on Netflix India starting June 15, 2026. Language and subtitle options for the Netflix release have not yet been confirmed.
