Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING Sequel Anime Is in Production

The new anime will continue the story after the television series finale by adapting TERRAFORMING, a post-finale manga episode collected in volume 27 of Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi's series.

Rather than reopening the completed main story, TERRAFORMING is positioned as the next episode in Senku's scientific adventure. Both official listings use the same English title, Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING, although one presents the news in Japanese and the other in English. That shared title distinguishes the new project from the completed Dr. STONE SCIENCE FUTURE television run and ties it directly to the named volume 27 story.

An announcement video was released alongside the news, featuring dialogue newly recorded for Senku. The official site also shared messages from manga writer Riichiro Inagaki and artist Boichi. Inagaki reflected on the television anime reaching the manga's final chapter and emphasized that Senku's scientific journey still has more ahead. Boichi thanked viewers and said he was happy to celebrate the production news with them. Television series character designer Yuko Iwasa contributed a commemorative illustration for the announcement.

Boichi's message addressed both attendees at STONE FES. 2026 and people watching the event stream, placing the creator response within the franchise's finale celebration. The official site presents the creator messages and Iwasa's artwork as part of the TERRAFORMING production reveal.

The production has not yet disclosed its release date, distribution plans, exact format, episode count, returning cast beyond Senku's presence in the announcement video, or full creative staff.
