Black Clover Season 2 will premiere on TV Tokyo in October 2026 with Studio Pierrot returning and Ayataka Tanemura directing, plus a world-premiere screening at Anime Expo on July 4.

Black Clover is officially returning to television. Studio Pierrot confirmed that the anime's second season will premiere on TV Tokyo in October 2026, with Ayataka Tanemura directing and a world-premiere screening set for Anime Expo on July 4.
Tanemura is no stranger to the Black Clover universe. He directed episodes 153 through 170 of the original anime's first season, overseeing the series through its final stretch before it concluded in March 2021 at episode 170. He then went on to helm the franchise's theatrical film, Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, which debuted worldwide on Netflix in June 2023. His return to the director's chair for Season 2 signals continuity in creative vision, particularly given his familiarity with the later arcs of the story.
Studio Pierrot, the animation house behind the original 170-episode run, is also returning to produce the new season. The studio is well known for its long-running shonen pedigree, having handled flagship franchises such as Naruto, Bleach, and Boruto.
Before the October broadcast premiere, fans will get an early look at the new season during Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles. The convention runs from July 2 through July 5 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and a dedicated Black Clover panel is scheduled for July 4. Director Tanemura and Gakuto Kajiwara, the voice actor behind protagonist Asta, will both attend the panel for what is expected to be the series' world-premiere screening.
Kajiwara has voiced Asta since the anime's debut in October 2017, making him one of the most enduring cast members in the franchise. His appearance alongside the director at one of North America's largest anime conventions underscores the weight the production is placing on the global rollout.
The anime's second season will continue adapting Yuki Tabata's Black Clover manga. The original anime covered a substantial portion of the source material before concluding its run, and the manga itself transitioned from Weekly Shonen Jump to the quarterly Jump GIGA magazine in 2023. That shift to a quarterly publication schedule gave Tabata more time per chapter, resulting in denser storytelling that has built up considerable unadapted material for the anime to cover.
The franchise maintained its profile during the anime's five-year hiatus through the 2023 film and the ongoing manga serialization, keeping the fanbase engaged while production on the new season moved forward.
Crunchyroll confirmed it will stream Black Clover Season 2, continuing its role as the primary streaming home for the franchise outside Japan. The series will air on TV Tokyo for its domestic broadcast. An exact premiere date within the October 2026 window has not yet been announced.
With the Anime Expo screening on July 4 offering the first public look at the new episodes, fans can expect additional staff and cast details to surface in the weeks ahead as the fall premiere approaches.
