Yuki Ikeda's parallel-world shonen manga Thunder 3 will publish its final chapter on June 5 in Monthly Shonen Magazine, weeks before its anime premieres on Fuji TV's +Ultra block in July 2026.

Yuki Ikeda's shonen manga Thunder 3 will end its serialization in the July issue of Monthly Shonen Magazine on June 5, just weeks before the series' TV anime adaptation debuts on Fuji TV's +Ultra programming block in July 2026.
Thunder 3 launched in Monthly Shonen Magazine in May 2022 and quickly drew attention on social media for its fast-paced storytelling and inventive visual style. The series earned a nomination for the Next Manga Awards 2022 shortly after its debut, establishing it as one of Kodansha's promising newer shonen properties.
The manga follows three ordinary middle school boys Pyontaro, Tsubame, and Hiroshi collectively nicknamed the "Small 3." When Pyontaro's younger sister Futaba goes missing into a parallel universe accessible through a mysterious DVD, the trio ventures into that dimension to rescue her. Their cartoonish bodies grant them superhuman abilities in the realistic parallel world, powering the series' distinctive action sequences that blend absurdist comedy with genuine stakes.
The story entered its climax arc in January 2025, but serialization paused in March 2025 due to creator Ikeda's health concerns. Publication resumed in February 2026, and the manga has now reached its planned conclusion after four years of serialization.
The TV anime will air on Fuji TV's +Ultra late-night block starting in July 2026. The +Ultra slot has previously hosted high-profile titles including Vinland Saga and serves as Fuji TV's dedicated anime programming window for prestige genre productions.
The announced voice cast features Sayumi Suzushiro as protagonist Pyontaro, Natsumi Kawaida as Tsubame, Eri Akiyama as Hiroshi, and Honoka Mitsubachi as Pyontaro's younger sister Futaba. Additional production staff and the animation studio handling the adaptation have not yet been revealed.
Kodansha USA publishes the manga's English edition, giving the series an established international readership heading into the anime's premiere. The timing of the manga's final chapter landing roughly a month before the anime begins airing creates a natural transition for fans moving from page to screen.
With Thunder 3 wrapping its manga run on June 5 and the anime locked in for the summer 2026 season, fans of Ikeda's parallel-world adventure will have both a complete manga to collect and a new animated version to follow within weeks of each other. Further cast, staff, and streaming details for the anime are expected in the coming weeks as the July premiere approaches.
