Director Hiroko Utsumi confirmed that SK8 the Infinity Season 2 will take place during winter, sharing a new illustration of protagonists Reki and Langa in winter clothing during the franchise's annual "Infinity Day" Instagram Live broadcast on August 8.

The reveal came as part of the series' yearly celebration held on August 8 - a date chosen for its connection to the infinity symbol. During the broadcast, Utsumi offered fans a candid update on the state of production, acknowledging that the team is not yet ready to show substantial new material but wanted to give the audience something to look forward to.

"We're not yet at the stage where we have something we can actually show everyone, but we wanted to share at least a little something about Season 2," Utsumi said during the stream. She added that production at Studio BONES is progressing steadily, closing with the franchise's signature optimism: "The possibilities are infinite, after all."

The newly revealed illustration depicts Reki Kyan and Langa Hasegawa bundled up in winter attire, a clear visual signal that the sophomore season will move the action out of Season 1's sunny Okinawa summer and into colder territory.
