Julietta Suzuki's Otaku Vampire's Love Bite is getting a TV anime adaptation. The project was announced in Japan on November 4, 2026, alongside a teaser visual and a promotional video built from manga artwork. The supernatural romantic comedy currently runs in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine.

What the first teaser shows

The teaser visual centers on Hina, the story's vampire heroine, smiling inside a coffin packed with merchandise dedicated to her favorite character. A blood pack rests close at hand, matching a character detail emphasized in the manga: despite being a vampire, Hina considers feeding directly from people unhygienic.

The accompanying video uses images from Suzuki's original manga rather than revealing finished animation. It introduces Hina's intense devotion to her favorite character and points toward her first encounter with her neighbor, Amanatsu. That approach makes this an adaptation announcement rather than a full production preview, but it establishes the romantic comedy's unusual combination of fandom culture and vampire mythology.

The choice to keep the first clip grounded in manga panels means viewers have not yet seen how Hina and Amanatsu will look in motion. What it does provide is a compact introduction to the heroine, her fan habits, and the encounter that launches the plot.

Suzuki is also the creator of Kamisama Kiss, another manga that received a television anime adaptation. Otaku Vampire's Love Bite began serialization in Hana to Yume in November 2022, making this the latest of Suzuki's works to move from the magazine to television.

The story behind the adaptation

Hina has spent 30 years shut away from the world before moving to Japan so she can fully enjoy supporting her favorite character. Her new life changes when she meets Amanatsu, the boy next door, whose appearance closely resembles that beloved character. The resemblance creates the central romantic question: are Hina's feelings simply the excitement of a devoted fan, or are they becoming genuine love?

Amanatsu also has blood that attracts vampires from around the world. Once other vampires begin targeting him, Hina's new routine shifts from fan-focused wish fulfillment into supernatural trouble. The setup gives the series two connected sources of tension, with Hina navigating both her feelings for Amanatsu and the danger created by his exceptional blood.

The announcement describes the pairing as a deeply devoted otaku vampire and a handsome neighbor with a somewhat sharp tongue. That contrast, together with Hina's reluctance to behave like a conventional vampire, defines the comedy promised by the initial material. The teaser does not yet reveal the cast, animation studio, staff, broadcast window, or streaming plans. For now, the confirmed package consists of the TV adaptation, its Hina-focused visual, and a manga-based promotional video introducing the central relationship.
