Wit Studio is tackling the East Blue saga. No filler. Modern animation. And it's coming sooner than you think.

It's actually happening.
Netflix just confirmed during their latest showcase that THE ONE PIECE, the remake project handled by Wit Studio (Attack on Titan S1-3, Spy x Family), is targeting a late 2026 release.
Look, the original Toei anime is legendary. But let's be real—the East Blue episodes are from 1999. The pacing is slow, the aspect ratio is 4:3, and the animation is... dated.
With over 1100 episodes, getting new friends into One Piece is a nightmare. "Just watch until episode 40, it gets good!" is a hard sell.
This remake is the solution. It is designed to be the entry point for the modern generation.
Will the voice actors return? Mayumi Tanaka (Luffy) has been voicing him for 25 years. Replacing the cast would be controversial, but keeping them might sound odd if the characters look drastically younger.
We're waiting on cast confirmation, but for now, mark your calendars. The King of Pirates is setting sail again.
