Mushoku Tensei Season 3 Launches Chaos Breaker Arc with New Opening by Yuiko Ohara

Mushoku Tensei Season 3 entered a new chapter on August 16 with Episode 8, titled "Sky Fortress." The episode marks the beginning of the Chaos Breaker arc and introduces a fresh opening theme, "Hikari no Uta" ("Song of Light"), performed by Yuiko Ohara.

A New Arc Takes Flight

The Chaos Breaker arc shifts the story's focus to the floating fortress of Dragon King Perugius Dola. After Nanahoshi suggests that Perugius may hold knowledge about Rudeus's mother Zenith's mysterious illness, Rudeus and his companions set out on a journey to the sky fortress. The arc adapts material from Volume 14 of the original light novel series, bringing some of the story's most anticipated encounters to the screen.

Studio Bind continues at the helm under the direction of Ryosuke Shibuya, with character designs by Sanae Shimada and Ryota Furukawa, and music composed by Yoshiaki Fujisawa.

New Cast Members Join the Roster

The transition into the Chaos Breaker arc brings a significant wave of new voice talent. Veteran actor Rikiya Koyama - known for roles spanning decades across anime and film - takes on the role of Dragon King Perugius Dola, the powerful figure who resides in the floating fortress. Joining him are Ayumi Tsunematsu as Silvaril the Void, Nanako Mori as the Undead Demon King Atoferatov Ryback, and Kengo Kawanishi as Almanfi the Radiance.

The expanded cast reflects the broadening scope of the narrative as Rudeus's world grows beyond the familiar circle of allies he has built over the past two seasons.

Yuiko Ohara's "Hikari no Uta"

Yuiko Ohara's "Hikari no Uta" serves as the third opening theme for Mushoku Tensei's ongoing season. The track is already available on major music streaming platforms. Ohara's contribution follows the series' pattern of pairing emotionally resonant vocal performances with each new narrative phase, a tradition that has helped define the anime's identity since its first season.

Special Companion Program

Alongside Episode 8's premiere, a companion special titled "Mushoku Tensei - New Chapter Special: Off to the Sky Fortress Chaos Breaker!" aired on ABEMA on August 16. The program featured voice actors Yumi Uchiyama (Rudeus), Ai Kayano (Sylphiette), Konomi Kohara (Roxy), Reina Ueda (Ariel), and Shion Wakayama (Nanahoshi), offering fans behind-the-scenes insights into the new arc.
