Studio BONES Film confirmed MarriageToxin Season 2 for a January 2027 premiere, revealed right after the Season 1 finale aired on June 30.

Studio BONES Film confirmed that MarriageToxin Season 2 will premiere in January 2027. The announcement arrived immediately after the Season 1 finale aired on June 30, accompanied by a promotional video teasing the continuation of the assassin-meets-matchmaker comedy.
The reveal followed the final episode of Season 1's thirteen-episode run, which covered the Water Master, Sound Master, and Beast Master arcs of the manga written by Joumyaku and illustrated by Mizuki Yoda. With a January 2027 debut, Season 2 will arrive roughly nine months after the first season began airing in April 2026, signaling strong confidence from both the studio and the production committee.
MarriageToxin adapts the Shonen Jump Plus manga that blends hitman action with romantic comedy. The story follows Gero Kirishima, a deadly assassin cursed with a lethal toxin that kills anyone he touches, and the marriage swindler Mei Sajou who is recruited to help him find a bride before his condition worsens. The premise's mix of dark comedy and surprisingly tender romance earned the first season consistent praise from viewers throughout its spring-summer broadcast window.
The core creative team behind Season 1 is expected to carry over into the second season. Director Motonobu Hori, whose credits include Carole and Tuesday and Metallic Rouge, helmed the adaptation at BONES Film, the subsidiary studio operating under the BONES umbrella. Series composition was handled by Kimiko Ueno, with character designs and chief animation direction from Kohei Tokuoka. The musical score by Taisei Iwasaki and Yuma Yamaguchi provided a distinctive sonic backdrop that balanced the show's tonal shifts between violent assassination sequences and awkward romantic encounters.
Season 1's opening theme, "Kill or Kiss" by Yurina Hirate, and ending theme, "Shake Na Baby" by AKASAKI, became fan favorites during the show's broadcast run. Theme song details for Season 2 have not yet been disclosed.
The first season aired on Kansai TV and Fuji TV's "Ka-Anival!!" Tuesday night anime block starting April 7, 2026. Crunchyroll handled international streaming for Season 1, making the series available to a global audience shortly after each Japanese broadcast. While Season 2's streaming arrangements have not been formally confirmed, the existing partnership with Crunchyroll positions the platform as the likely international home for the continuation.
With thirteen episodes covering three major arcs in Season 1, the second season has substantial source material to draw from. The manga has continued serialization on Shonen Jump Plus, giving the anime plenty of runway for future storylines involving new Masters and deeper exploration of Gero and Mei's unconventional partnership.
MarriageToxin creator Joumyaku expressed gratitude for the Season 2 greenlight, reflecting the positive reception the adaptation received from both manga readers and anime-only viewers. The January 2027 premiere places the series in the competitive winter anime season, where it will look to build on the momentum established by its well-received first outing at BONES Film.
