TMS Entertainment unveiled a final showdown visual and announced Koichi Yamadera and Kotono Mitsuishi as the voices of Why-Man ahead of Dr. Stone: Science Future's series finale on June 25.

TMS Entertainment has released a climactic final showdown visual for Dr. Stone: Science Future and revealed the voice cast behind the series' most enigmatic antagonist, Why-Man, ahead of the anime's series finale airing on June 25.
Why-Man has been one of the longest-running mysteries in Dr. Stone since the entity's existence was first hinted at during Season 2. Now, with only one episode remaining, the anime's official channels have confirmed that two legendary voice actors will bring the character to life.
Koichi Yamadera, whose extensive career includes voicing Spike Spiegel in Cowboy Bebop, takes on the role alongside Kotono Mitsuishi, best known as Usagi Tsukino in Sailor Moon. The pairing of two of anime's most iconic voices for Why-Man underscores the significance of the reveal and the weight the production team is placing on the franchise's conclusion. The dual casting hints at the multifaceted nature of Why-Man without spoiling the specifics for anime-only viewers.
The newly released visual depicts Why-Man in a confrontation with Senku Ishigami and the Kingdom of Science crew, marking the first time the series' key art has placed the mysterious antagonist front and center. Previous climax visuals for the final cour had showcased Senku in a spacesuit and the assembled astronaut crew preparing for their journey, gradually building toward this ultimate confrontation.
The visual captures the culmination of a journey that began when Senku first awakened in a petrified world and vowed to rebuild civilization through science. The crew's space mission, which integrated former adversaries Dr. Xeno and Stanley Snyder into the Kingdom of Science, has been building toward uncovering the secret behind Why-Man and the global petrification event.
Dr. Stone: Science Future is the fourth and final season of the anime adaptation of Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi's manga, which was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump. The franchise's anime run stretches back to its first season in Summer 2019, which aired for 24 episodes. Season 2, subtitled Stone Wars, followed in January 2021 with 11 episodes, and a special Ryusui-focused episode premiered in July 2022. Season 3, New World, ran for 23 episodes across two split cours in 2023.
The final season's third and concluding cour premiered on April 2, 2026, with Shuhei Matsushita directing at TMS Entertainment. The thirteenth episode on June 25 will serve as the series finale, bringing the anime's seven-year run to a close.
The finale will resolve the Why-Man mystery that has driven much of the series' overarching plot since the petrification event. With Yamadera and Mitsuishi now confirmed in the role, viewers can anticipate a dramatic payoff when the final episode airs. Dr. Stone: Science Future is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
