Dengeki Daisy Sets January 2027 Two-Cour Run in Main Trailer

Dengeki Daisy will begin broadcasting in Japan in January 2027, and the Studio DEEN production is scheduled to run for two consecutive cours. The anime's first main trailer and a new key visual arrived with the timing announcement on September 19, while four more cast members were confirmed.

The main trailer is the clearest look yet at the television adaptation of Kyousuke Motomi's romance and suspense manga. It introduces the newly announced characters in motion and marks the first release of their voices. The accompanying visual places leads Teru Kurebayashi and Tasuku Kurosaki alongside Souichirou Kurebayashi, Riko Onizuka, Masuda, and Akira. An exact premiere date and Japanese broadcast stations have not been announced.

Four supporting roles join the cast

Tomokazu Sugita voices Souichirou Kurebayashi, Teru's late older brother and a gifted systems engineer. Yuka Terasaki plays Riko Onizuka, the psychological counselor at Teru's school. Setsuji Satou has been cast as Masuda, the manager of the Ohanabatake cafe, while Kouhei Amasaki voices Akira, a mysterious boy whose interest in Teru puts him in conflict with Kurosaki.

They join Yoshino Aoyama as Teru and Taku Yashiro as Kurosaki. The story begins after Teru loses Souichirou, her only relative, and finds support in emails from an unknown person called Daisy. When she accidentally breaks a school window, she is made to work for the sharp-tongued school custodian Kurosaki. Although he gives her a hard time, his unexpected concern for her pulls the pair into the manga's mix of romance, secrets, and danger.

The official character profiles also connect the newcomers to the mystery around Teru. Souichirou once worked on a team with Kurosaki, Riko, Masuda, and Ando, and entrusted Teru to Daisy before his death at age 28. Riko was Souichirou's girlfriend and continues to watch over Teru. Masuda is a former special forces member, and Akira is described as fixated on Teru and intent on provoking Kurosaki.

The production team and source manga

Sota Ueno is directing the anime at Studio DEEN. Sawako Hirabayashi is handling series composition, Ayaka Murakami is designing the characters, and Masaru Yokoyama is composing the music. The wider staff also includes Kenichi Tajiri and Goichi Katanosaka on art design, Shuhei Nishitani on prop design, Mizuki Nakagawa on color design, Rieko Itai and Chunri Rong as art directors, and Akane Shiraishi as editor.

Motomi's Dengeki Daisy ran in Shogakukan's Betsucomi from 2007 to 2013. The official anime site says the manga has sold more than five million copies worldwide. It follows Teru's relationship with Kurosaki while the identity of Daisy and connections surrounding her brother deepen the story's suspense. The adaptation was initially announced for 2027 before the new material narrowed its start to January and confirmed that the broadcast will continue across two consecutive cours.

The manga is also receiving a new eight-volume edition. The official site lists its release as beginning October 26, 2026, with all eight volumes planned across four consecutive months, giving the completed story a fresh edition ahead of the anime.

The January 2027 launch is the next confirmed milestone. The new trailer, key visual, expanded cast, and consecutive two-cour plan now establish the anime's opening broadcast framework ahead of its premiere.
