Ufotable's promotional slate confirms Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 is categorized under future projects beyond 2026, pushing its earliest possible release window to 2027.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Part 2 will not arrive in 2026. A recent promotional video from Ufotable categorized the highly anticipated sequel under the studio's "future projects" section rather than its confirmed 2026 slate, making it clear that the earliest possible release window is now 2027. The update is disappointing but not entirely surprising given the scale of the first film's production.
The promotional reel, which showcases the studio's current and upcoming work, divides projects into two clearly labeled sections: titles releasing in 2026 and future titles planned beyond that year. Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Part 2 appears firmly in the latter category alongside the in-development Genshin Impact anime adaptation.
Ufotable's confirmed 2026 theatrical output is instead anchored by Witch on the Holy Night, an anime film adaptation of Type-Moon's visual novel from the same universe as Fate/stay night. The studio is also involved in a commemorative project tied to the 30th anniversary of the Tales of video game franchise. These two projects appear to account for the studio's theatrical production capacity this year.
The delay follows one of the most successful commercial runs in anime film history. The first Infinity Castle film premiered in Japan on July 18, 2025, and has since earned approximately 778.9 million dollars in worldwide ticket sales as of February 2026. In Japan alone, it grossed roughly 39.14 billion yen, making it the country's second-highest-grossing domestic release of all time behind only Spirited Away's adjusted total.
Part 1 ran over two and a half hours in length, an exceptionally long runtime for an anime feature film. The production reportedly took approximately three and a half years to complete at the level of visual quality Ufotable delivered. If Part 2 demands comparable scope and detail, the extended production timeline is a direct consequence of the standard the studio has set for itself.
The Infinity Castle saga is planned as a trilogy of films adapting the manga's climactic final arc. With Part 2 now targeting 2027 at the earliest and the concluding third installment reportedly scheduled for 2029, the complete adaptation of Koyoharu Gotouge's endgame storyline will span roughly four years from Part 1's premiere to the trilogy's conclusion.
For Indian fans who watched Part 1 during its theatrical run through PVR, INOX, and other chains, the wait continues. No international release plans or distribution details for Part 2 have been discussed publicly at this stage, though the first film's strong international performance makes a global theatrical release likely once the film is ready.
The Infinity Castle arc represents the final major confrontation of the manga. Ufotable's decision to maintain production standards rather than accelerate the sequel's delivery reflects the studio's longstanding approach of prioritizing visual quality above all else.
