Though I Am an Inept Villainess seized its first weekly number-one ranking in Summer 2026's sixth week of community polling, earning 7.25 percent of the vote. Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World - Season 4 debuted in second place, while Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War - The Calamity held firm at third.

A Persistent Contender Finally Breaks Through

The villainess isekai's climb to the top has been one of the most consistent stories of the summer season. After finishing second in weeks two, three, and five - and slipping to third in week four - the series finally converted its steady popularity into a first-place finish. The win makes it the fourth different anime to claim a weekly number-one during the Summer 2026 season, reflecting a competitive landscape where no single title has managed to dominate week after week.

With 7.25 percent of the vote, the margin of victory was relatively narrow. Re:Zero Season 4 arrived just 0.56 percentage points behind at 6.69 percent, a strong debut for a franchise returning after considerable anticipation. The new season's immediate placement at number two signals that the isekai thriller has lost none of its following during the gap between seasons.

Bleach and the Isekai Heavyweight Class

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War - The Calamity continued its reliable presence in the top three, claiming 6.50 percent of the vote. The final arc adaptation, produced by Pierrot Films, carries a 9.04 score on MyAnimeList across more than 140,000 members - the highest-rated entry of the entire Summer 2026 lineup by a comfortable margin.

Saga of Tanya the Evil II held fourth place with 5.72 percent, maintaining the military-fantasy series' steady run this season. The show carries an 8.31 on MyAnimeList with over 254,000 members tracking its progress. Rounding out the top five was Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3 at 5.62 percent. Studio Bind's adaptation holds an 8.61 rating with more than 301,000 members, making it the most-watched continuing series of the season by raw audience size.

The Rest of the Top Ten

The middle tier of the rankings told its own story of genre diversity. Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You landed at sixth with 5.37 percent, keeping the slice-of-life romance in the conversation. Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia followed closely at seventh with 5.33 percent, the historical drama maintaining an 8.45 rating on MyAnimeList.

The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You Season 3 took eighth place at 5.01 percent, proving the harem comedy's audience remains engaged through its third outing. You and I Are Polar Opposites Season 2 settled at ninth with 4.57 percent, its romance-comedy appeal keeping it inside the top ten. Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky rounded out the list at tenth with 2.19 percent - a notable drop-off from the cluster of titles above it.

A Season Without a Dominant Force

The fact that four different series have now won a weekly ranking through six weeks underlines how competitive the Summer 2026 schedule has been. No single title has managed to string together consecutive wins, and the vote-share margins between the top three remain tight enough that any given week could produce a new leader. With Re:Zero Season 4 entering the picture as a strong new contender, the battle for the top spot is only getting more crowded heading into the season's second half. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War and Mushoku Tensei continue to stream on Crunchyroll, while Re:Zero Season 4 is also available on the platform as it begins its run.
