Re:ZERO - Starting Life in Another World Season 4 has unveiled its first full trailer for the Recapture Arc, the second half of the season's 19-episode run. The eight-episode arc premieres on August 12 with two newly announced cast members and a pair of high-profile theme song collaborations.

The Recapture Arc Picks Up Where the Loss Arc Left Off

The Recapture Arc follows directly from the Loss Arc, which premiered on April 8 and carried the season's first eleven episodes. WHITE FOX's new trailer showcases Subaru and his allies as they push deeper into the challenges left unresolved by the previous arc, with the footage hinting at escalating stakes and confrontations that will define the season's second half.

The trailer gives viewers their first animated look at two characters who will play significant roles in the arc's events - the mysterious Shaula and the legendary swordsman Reid Astrea. Both figures carry major weight in the broader Re:ZERO mythology, and their full introduction marks a turning point for the series.

Fairouz Ai and Tomokazu Sugita Join the Cast

Fairouz Ai, known for her breakout role as Jolyne Cujoh in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, takes on the role of Shaula. Tomokazu Sugita, the veteran voice behind Gintoki Sakata in Gintama and numerous other iconic characters, voices Reid Astrea. Both additions bring considerable star power to the Recapture Arc's ensemble.

The returning cast continues with Yusuke Kobayashi as Subaru, Rie Takahashi as Emilia, Inori Minase as Rem, Rie Murakawa as Ram, Satomi Arai as Beatrice, Kana Ueda as Anastasia, and Takuya Eguchi as Julius. The core cast has remained consistent throughout the season's run, with the Recapture Arc layering these new voices on top of the established ensemble.

Dual Theme Song Collaborations

The opening theme, titled "Recollect," pairs franchise mainstay Konomi Suzuki with British-American rapper and singer Ashnikko in an unexpected cross-genre collaboration. The track was produced by Giga and TeddyLoid, adding electronic production credentials to an already distinctive pairing. Suzuki has been a fixture of Re:ZERO's musical identity since the first season, and her return for this arc reinforces that connection while pushing it in a new stylistic direction.

The ending theme, "Ender Ember," brings together MYTH&ROID - another longtime Re:ZERO musical collaborator - with TK from Ling Tosite Sigure. TK's distinctive vocal style, familiar to fans from the Tokyo Ghoul franchise's iconic opening themes, adds a raw intensity that suits the arc's darker narrative territory. MYTH&ROID previously contributed ending themes to earlier seasons of Re:ZERO, making this collaboration a continuation of an established creative relationship.

Returning Staff and Where to Watch

The production staff remains intact from the Loss Arc. Director Masahiro Shinohara helms the project at WHITE FOX, with series script supervisor Masahiro Yokotani overseeing the adaptation. Character designer Haruka Sagawa and composer Kenichiro Suehiro also return, maintaining visual and musical continuity across both arcs of the season.

Alongside the Recapture Arc trailer, an episode 12 preview was also revealed, featuring a mini-anime segment focused on the characters Elsa and Meili. This bonus content bridges the gap between the two arcs as the series transitions into its final stretch.
