Saitama is coming back. But after the divisive Season 2, fans are nervous. Here is why the Monster Association arc needs to be perfect.

Let's address the elephant in the room. One Punch Man Season 1 (Madhouse) was a miracle. Season 2 (J.C. Staff) was... acceptable, but disappointing.
The metallic textures on Genos looked weird. The punches lacked weight. The screen went black every time a hit connected to save on animation.
Now, J.C. Staff is back for Season 3. Can they redeem themselves?
Season 3 tackles the Monster Association arc. This is basically non-stop fighting. We have Garou vs. Everyone. We have the S-Class heroes finally showing their true power.
If the animation isn't fluid, this season fails. This arc relies on kinetic energy. It relies on Garou's martial arts looking distinct from Saitama's simple punches.
The teaser trailer released recently showed promise. The compositing looks better. The character models look sharper and closer to Yusuke Murata's god-tier manga art.
J.C. Staff is a veteran studio. They know they got heat for Season 2. Reports suggest they've brought in freelance heavyweights for the key action cuts this time.
We don't need another Season 1—that was lightning in a bottle. We just need a show that doesn't look like a PowerPoint presentation during the fights. Saitama deserves better.
Anticipated Release: Late 2026.
