Twin Engine released a special trailer for Mononoke the Movie: Chapter 3 — Snake God, the trilogy finale opening in Japanese theaters on May 29.

Twin Engine has unveiled a special trailer for Mononoke the Movie: Chapter 3 Snake God, the concluding chapter of the supernatural horror film trilogy. The film opens in Japanese theaters on May 29 with Studio Kafka and EOTA handling animation production.
The special trailer blends footage from the previous two films with new scenes from Snake God, showcasing the franchise's distinctive horror atmosphere. Set in the imperial harem known as the Ooku, the story picks up after the death of Empress Sachiko, as a giant snake-shaped Mononoke emerges to terrorize the inner palace. The Medicine Seller must once again uncover the creature's three defining characteristics its Form, Truth, and Reason before he can draw his demon-slaying sword. The investigation pulls back 150 years of dark secrets buried within the Ooku's history.
The trailer also hints at expanded roles for the emperor and the priest Hokuto Mizorogi, signaling that the trilogy's finale will widen its scope beyond the supernatural threat itself and into the political machinations surrounding the inner palace.
Hiroshi Kamiya reprises his role as the Medicine Seller, a part he inherited for the film trilogy after Takahiro Sakurai voiced the character in the original 2007 television anime. Several new cast members join the finale: Miyuki Sawashiro voices the Third Empress, Fumi Hirano plays Tokiwai, Mariko Honda takes on the role of Kawa, Yukana portrays Amanotsubone, and Eiji Takemoto voices Saku Mizorogi.
Kenji Nakamura returns as general director with Tomoaki Koshida directing. Yasumi Atarashi penned the script, Kitsuneko Nagata designed the characters, and Taku Iwasaki composed the score. Aina The End performs the theme song "No Epilogue," providing a musical capstone for the trilogy's conclusion.
The Mononoke film saga traces its origins to the Medicine Seller arc in the 2006 anthology series Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales, which proved popular enough to spawn the standalone Mononoke television anime in 2007. The film trilogy reimagined the franchise with a fresh visual identity. The first installment, The Phantom in the Rain, premiered in Japan in July 2024, followed by Chapter II The Ashes of Rage in March 2025. Both earlier films are available internationally on Netflix, making the platform a likely destination for the finale once its theatrical window closes.
With Snake God arriving on May 29, the Mononoke film trilogy reaches its climax. Indian fans who watched the first two chapters on Netflix can look forward to eventual streaming availability for the conclusion. For now, the special trailer offers a final taste of the Medicine Seller's demon-hunting journey through the haunted corridors of the Ooku.
