Marriage Toxin has made its anime debut on Crunchyroll with production by Bones Film and a global premiere at Sakura-Con.

Marriage Toxin, the shonen manga about an elite assassin from a family of poison masters who teams up with a marriage swindler to find a bride, has made its anime debut. The series premiered on April 7, 2026, streaming worldwide on Crunchyroll, with animation production by Bones Film under the BONES umbrella.
The story follows Hikaru Gero, an assassin from a prestigious family of poison specialists, who is tasked with finding a wife to continue the family lineage. Unable to navigate the world of romance on his own, he reluctantly partners with Mei Kinosaki, a cunning marriage swindler who agrees to help him find the perfect bride. What follows is a blend of high-stakes action and romantic comedy as the two navigate dangerous family politics, rival assassins, and the inherent awkwardness of forced matchmaking.
The manga by Josei Moriarty has been serialized in Shonen Jump+ and has built a following for its distinctive combination of assassination action and romantic comedy, occupying a tonal space somewhere between spy thriller and matchmaking farce.
Haruki Ishiya voices the lead role of Hikaru Gero, with Shion Wakayama as Mei Kinosaki. Anna Nagase plays Kyoko Himekawa, and Mariya Ise voices Shizuku Ushio. Motonobu Hori directs the series, with Kimiko Ueno handling series composition and scripts. Character designs are by Kōhei Tokuoka, who also serves as chief animation director. The music is composed by Taisei Iwasaki and Yuma Yamaguchi.
The opening theme is performed by actress and singer Yurina Hirate.
Ahead of the broadcast debut, Crunchyroll hosted a global premiere screening of the anime's first two episodes at Sakura-Con in Seattle on April 4. Voice actor Haruki Ishiya attended the event in person for a panel and autograph session, giving fans an early look at the adaptation before its worldwide streaming launch.
The anime marks Bones Film's latest entry into the shonen action genre, adding to a studio portfolio that includes My Hero Academia and Mob Psycho 100. The pairing of a seasoned action studio with a manga that blends combat and comedy makes for a natural fit.
New episodes of Marriage Toxin stream every Tuesday on Crunchyroll at 7:30 AM Pacific Time, airing in Japan on the Ka-Anival!! Tuesday night block on Kansai TV and Fuji TV. The series joins a packed spring 2026 anime season alongside returning heavyweights and a wave of fresh adaptations competing for viewer attention.
