A third season titled How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord ULT has been announced, with Masaaki Mizunaka, Yu Serizawa and Azumi Waki reprising their roles as Diablo, Shera and Rem.

The isekai franchise How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord is getting a third television season, the anime's staff confirmed on April 6, 2026. Subtitled How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord ULT, the new season reunites lead voice cast Masaaki Mizunaka, Yu Serizawa and Azumi Waki after a five-year gap since the second season wrapped in 2021.
The staff revealed the sequel through a commemorative visual drawn by light novel illustrator Takahiro Tsurusaki, accompanied by a celebration illustration from manga artist Naoto Fukuda. The ULT subtitle is the only confirmed branding so far; the production team has not disclosed a premiere window, an episode count or a broadcast platform lineup for the new run.
Returning in the Japanese cast are:
Masaaki Mizunaka as Diablo, the socially anxious gamer summoned into the body of his in-game demon lord character
Yu Serizawa as Shera L. Greenwood, the elf summoner
Azumi Waki as Rem Galleu, the pantherian summoner
A new director, studio credits and the rest of the staff block have not been announced. Season 2, which aired in 2021, was produced by Tezuka Productions in collaboration with Okuru to Noboru, and the franchise has consistently carried that duo's art style across its broadcast history.
Season 1 premiered in July 2018, adapting Yukiya Murasaki's light novels with illustrations by Takahiro Tsurusaki. A second season, How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord Omega, followed three years later in April 2021. The five-year wait for ULT is one of the longer sequel gaps for a mid-tier isekai property, though the light novel line has continued to publish volumes in Japan through Kodansha's Kodansha Ranobe Bunko imprint, giving the adaptation fresh source material to draw from.
The light novels have also been localized in English by J-Novel Club, and Kodansha USA publishes Naoto Fukuda's manga adaptation, which helps explain why the franchise retained enough overseas traction to justify another season after the long hiatus.
Both earlier seasons of How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord stream on Crunchyroll, including in India, with Japanese audio and subtitles. Assuming the ULT season follows the franchise's previous licensing pattern, Crunchyroll India is the likeliest home for the new episodes once a premiere date is set. No Indian streaming deal has been formally announced yet, and the staff has not confirmed whether ULT will ship with a simuldub.
The immediate items still outstanding are the production studio credit, a director, a premiere quarter and a key visual with a release window. Given the April 2026 announcement timing, a late 2026 or 2027 broadcast is the realistic range, though nothing has been locked in. Fans can expect the staff to roll out further details, including the supporting cast and theme song artists, in the weeks ahead as the production ramps up.
