Firefly Wedding Anime Reveals Second Teaser, New Cast, and October 9 Premiere
David Production's Firefly Wedding anime unveiled a second teaser trailer, two new cast members, and an October 9, 2026 premiere in the Noitamina block.

David Production's television anime adaptation of Firefly Wedding has released a second teaser trailer, confirming an October 9, 2026 premiere in Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block. The update also revealed two additional cast members and the series' ending theme.
New Cast Additions
Kento Ito joins the cast as Kotaro Ogawa, while Kenjiro Tsuda will voice the character Mitsueda. They join the previously announced leads Lynn, who stars as Satoko Kirigaya, and Koki Uchiyama as Shinpei Goto. The growing ensemble rounds out the central figures of a story built on tension between duty, danger, and unexpected romance.
Ending Theme and Staff
Musical artist TOOBOE will perform the ending theme, titled "Yumegokochi (Trance)." The series' score is composed by NOGRID, continuing a production helmed by director Takahiro Kamei with series composition and scripts by Yuko Kakihara. Yukiko Aikei serves as character designer, translating Oreco Tachibana's original manga artwork into the animated adaptation.
About the Source Material
Firefly Wedding is based on Tachibana's manga, serialized through Shogakukan's MangaONE app. The series has collected 12 published volumes and surpassed 4.5 million copies in circulation. It also earned the 2024 Digital Comic Award, a recognition that helped raise the title's profile ahead of the anime announcement.
The story follows Satoko, the daughter of a prestigious family who learns she has little time left to live. After being kidnapped by an assassin named Shinpei, she makes a desperate proposal - of marriage. The premise hinges on the assassin taking the vow "until death do us part" with lethal seriousness, setting up a dynamic where growing romantic feelings clash with the reality of Satoko's condition and Shinpei's profession.
Premiere Details and Streaming
Firefly Wedding will air Fridays at 11:30 p.m. JST in the Noitamina block, a timeslot with a long history of showcasing character-driven anime. The premiere is set for October 9, with Crunchyroll confirmed as a streaming platform for international audiences. A special advance screening of the first three episodes is scheduled for September 6 in Japan, giving fans an early look at the series ahead of its broadcast debut.
The Noitamina block has served as the launchpad for numerous critically regarded titles over its two-decade run, and Firefly Wedding's blend of romance and thriller elements fits the slot's tradition of genre-blending storytelling. David Production, known for its work on JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Fire Force, brings substantial action-animation experience to a series that will need to balance intimate character moments with higher-stakes sequences.
With its source material already boasting strong sales numbers and award recognition, Firefly Wedding enters the fall 2026 season as one of the more anticipated new adaptations. The October 9 premiere gives the series a clear runway in a packed seasonal lineup.
