The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System will begin its second cour in Japan on October 1. The anime's official team announced the date on September 24 alongside a main trailer, a new key visual, four additional cast members, and the opening and ending songs for the next part of the TV series.

What the second-cour trailer confirms

The new promotional video presents the next stage of Elymas Edvaughn and Luce Rubis's journey after the anime's summer debut. Its accompanying key visual places the returning pair at the center while also bringing the newly announced characters into the larger group. Together, the video and visual signal that the continuation is expanding the cast around the two adventurers rather than introducing a separate adaptation.

Music is a prominent part of the reveal. Tokoyami Towa performs the new opening theme, "Rewrite the Answer." Japanese rock band PompadollS handles the ending theme, "Contemporary Dance." Both songs are featured in the trailer, giving viewers an early sample of how the second cour will sound before the October 1 broadcast begins.

The date makes this a direct continuation of the television run that started in Japan on July 2, 2026. Crunchyroll has carried the series in selected territories and says it will continue streaming the anime. Exact availability and release timing can vary by region.

The story follows Elymas, the son of a prominent family of swordsmen, after he awakens the supposedly defective Heavy Knight class and is cast out. Memories of a previous life reveal that his new world resembles a game he already understands. That knowledge lets him recognize the class's overlooked potential and shapes the way he approaches battles alongside Luce.

Four characters expand the cour's cast

Kosuke Tanabe joins as Kelt, with Tsugumi Sakuragi voicing Maebel. Misaki Kuno takes the role of Hilde, while Kengo Kawanishi voices Carlos. The official announcement included comments from all four performers, each discussing their recording experience or approach to the character.

Sakuragi said she repeatedly reviewed the footage and manga while shaping Maebel as someone with a gentle manner and strong convictions. She also pointed to Maebel's exchanges with Kelt as something to watch. Kawanishi described recording against nearly full-color, close-to-finished footage as a rare experience.

Several of those comments offered an unusual glimpse into the production process. Tanabe, Kuno, and Kawanishi each noted that the animation was already highly developed during recording. Kuno also previously appeared in the first cour as the receptionist and now adds Hilde to her work on the series. The announcements stop short of laying out the new characters' full roles in the coming conflict, leaving the trailer and their designs as the clearest preview for now.

GoHands produces the animation. Katsumasa Yokomine directs under general director Shingo Suzuki, and Takayuki Uchida is credited for character design. The anime adapts the fantasy light novels written by Nekoko and illustrated by Jaian, while Lee Brocco draws the manga adaptation.

The trailer, visual, cast additions, and theme-song lineup give the second cour a clear launch package. Its next confirmed milestone is the October 1 Japanese broadcast start, when Elymas and Luce's continuing adventure moves into its new phase.
