Dengeki Daisy Anime Reveals Main Cast and Teaser With Crunchyroll Streaming Pickup
Studio Deen's Dengeki Daisy anime revealed Taku Yashiro and Yoshino Aoyama as the main cast at Anime Expo 2026, alongside a teaser trailer and Crunchyroll streaming confirmation for 2027.

Studio Deen's upcoming anime adaptation of Dengeki Daisy unveiled its two main cast members and a teaser trailer at Anime Expo 2026 on July 3, with Crunchyroll confirmed as the worldwide streaming partner for the 2027 shojo romance.
Main Cast Revealed
Taku Yashiro will voice Tasuku Kurosaki, the enigmatic school janitor at the center of the story's mystery, while Yoshino Aoyama takes on the role of Teru Kurebayashi, the orphaned high school student who communicates with a mysterious figure known only as DAISY through her late brother's phone. The casting was officially revealed through a teaser video posted on the anime's social media accounts on July 4, following the Anime Expo panel the day before.
Yashiro brings a growing resume of leading roles that suits the dual-natured Kurosaki - a character who oscillates between gruff caretaker and protective guardian harboring a significant secret. Aoyama steps into the shoes of Teru, whose resilience and determination drive the manga's emotional core.
Production Staff and Studio
The teaser trailer also confirmed the broader production team steering the adaptation. Sota Ueno is directing at Studio Deen, with Sawako Hirabayashi handling series composition. Ayaka Murakami is designing the characters, while composer Masaru Yokoyama - known for his work across a wide range of anime productions - is scoring the music.
Studio Deen's involvement was first announced earlier in the year, and the studio now has its key creative pillars in place for the 2027 premiere. While no specific season or month has been pinpointed, the pace of announcements suggests steady progress on the production.
Crunchyroll to Stream Worldwide
Crunchyroll's pickup as the streaming partner is a significant addition to the announcement. The platform will handle worldwide distribution, ensuring broad accessibility for international audiences when the series debuts in 2027. Shojo adaptations have seen renewed interest from streaming platforms in recent years, and Dengeki Daisy's established fanbase makes it a natural fit for Crunchyroll's catalog.
About the Source Material
Dengeki Daisy is based on Kyousuke Motomi's shojo manga, which was serialized in Shogakukan's Monthly Betsucomi magazine from May 2007 to October 2013. The series spans 16 compiled volumes and has been released in English by Viz Media. The story follows Teru Kurebayashi, who after losing her brother receives a phone with a single contact - the mysterious DAISY. As Teru navigates school life and an unusual arrangement doing chores for the gruff janitor Kurosaki, she gradually uncovers that the people around her may be more connected to her past than she realizes.
The manga's blend of romance, comedy, and suspense earned it a dedicated readership during its six-year run, and the anime announcement has reinvigorated fan enthusiasm for the franchise.
What Comes Next
With the main cast and core staff now in place and Crunchyroll locked in for distribution, the Dengeki Daisy anime has its foundation set heading into the remainder of 2027 pre-production. Further cast announcements and a more specific premiere window are expected in the coming months as Studio Deen continues work on the adaptation.
