Crunchyroll is now available as an add-on subscription inside SonyLIV in India at a limited-time launch price of Rs 49 per month, offering 900-plus anime titles with Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu dubs.

Crunchyroll has officially integrated into SonyLIV as an add-on subscription tier in India, bringing over 900 anime titles to the platform. A limited-time launch offer prices the add-on at Rs 49 per month, down from the regular Rs 99, with the window running through May 21, 2026.
Subscribers who activate the Crunchyroll add-on through SonyLIV gain access to more than 900 anime titles and over 160 dubbed shows. Dubbed languages span Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and English, making this one of the most extensive localized anime offerings in India to date. No separate Crunchyroll app is required the entire library is accessible directly within the SonyLIV interface.
SonyLIV subscribers also get a limited free preview of select popular anime titles before committing to the paid add-on, lowering the barrier to entry for viewers who have never tried the platform's anime catalogue.
The promotional Rs 49 per month rate is available between May 7 and May 21, 2026. Subscribers who lock in during this window retain the discounted price for six consecutive months before the rate reverts to the standard Rs 99 per month. For context, a standalone Crunchyroll subscription in many global markets runs significantly higher, making the SonyLIV bundle route one of the most affordable entry points worldwide for the service.
The add-on sits within SonyLIV's broader content ecosystem, which already hosts over 40,000 hours of programming and has crossed 100 million app downloads.
The partnership reflects a deliberate push into what both companies describe as a fast-growing anime market. Terry Li, Crunchyroll's Chief Product Officer, stated that "India is one of the most exciting and fastest-growing anime markets in the world," adding that the collaboration makes it "easier than ever for fans to access the stories and characters they love."
Nachiket Pantvaidya, Chief Content Officer at Sony Pictures Networks India, called the integration "a pivotal step" in reaching younger demographics and tapping into surging anime fandom across the country.
The numbers back up the enthusiasm. A 2025 study found that 62 percent of Indian entertainment consumers surveyed expressed a liking or love for anime, while 74 percent of Indian teenagers identified as anime fans. Nearly 40 percent of those teen fans said anime is part of their identity a level of cultural penetration that few entertainment verticals can claim among that age group.
For viewers already paying for a SonyLIV subscription, the add-on eliminates the friction of managing a separate anime streaming account. The Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu dubs address a long-standing gap much of the anime legally available in India has historically been subtitle-only or English-dubbed, limiting reach beyond metro audiences comfortable with those formats.
With the May 21 deadline just days away, fans looking to lock in the Rs 49 rate for six months have a narrow window remaining. After that, the standard Rs 99 monthly price still positions the add-on well below what most global subscribers pay for Crunchyroll access.
