Bushiroad announced a new Cardfight Vanguard television anime for 2027 to mark the franchise's 15th anniversary, alongside a theatrical film that closes the current DivineZ arc on October 2 in Japan.

Bushiroad announced on April 10 that a new Cardfight Vanguard television anime will debut in 2027 to celebrate the franchise's 15th anniversary. The company paired the reveal with a theatrical film titled Cardfight Vanguard Divinez Unmei Seisen-hen (Fate Star Battle Arc), which opens in Japanese theaters on October 2 and serves as the finale of the currently airing DivineZ television series.
The upcoming series is described as a fully new television anime within the Vanguard franchise, separate from the Divinez continuity. Bushiroad did not name the studio, director, or cast at the April 10 announcement, but confirmed that the project will launch during the anniversary window. More production details are expected at later Bushiroad Spring and Summer presentations.
Cardfight Vanguard launched as a trading card game and television anime in 2011, with the franchise running continuously since. The 15th-anniversary project is the first wholly new entry since the Divinez television series, which debuted in 2024.
Kinema Citrus is animating the Divinez Unmei Seisen-hen theatrical film, with character designs by manga creator group CLAMP carried over from the earlier television seasons. The film is positioned as a theatrical conclusion to the DivineZ storyline rather than a bridge to a new television arc.
CLAMP has worked on Vanguard character designs across the Divinez series, a returning partnership that has been a marketing anchor for the franchise's later seasons. Bushiroad typically pairs theatrical releases with limited-edition trading card sets and tie-in booster packs.
The announcements came via the official Cardfight Vanguard X account and a Bushiroad-hosted presentation. Alongside the new TV anime and film, Bushiroad teased additional cross-media projects tied to the 15th anniversary, including a remastered release of the franchise's first anime episode.
The franchise's broader 15th-anniversary program runs through 2027, with merchandise, card game tournaments, and collaborative events scheduled across the window.
Cardfight Vanguard series have historically streamed internationally through platforms including Crunchyroll and Ani-One Asia. Regional carriage for the 2027 series and the Divinez film has not been confirmed. India has not been listed among the confirmed regional markets at this stage; prior Vanguard seasons were carried on Ani-One Asia's regional YouTube channel with English subtitles, and that channel remains the most likely international window for Indian audiences.
Anniversary relaunches in trading-card franchises often serve as mechanical resets for new card game product cycles. If Bushiroad follows the pattern set by earlier Vanguard seasons, the 2027 television anime will coincide with a new card rotation and tournament structure, with the TV anime carrying the branding for the competitive scene. The Divinez finale in October and the 2027 television launch will be the bookends of the anniversary window.
