Blue Box Season 2 Starts Weekly Netflix Run
Blue Box Season 2 premiered October 4 on Japan's TBS network and began its weekly Netflix streaming run the same day.

Blue Box Season 2 premiered Sunday, October 4, on Japan's TBS network and began its weekly Netflix run the same day. The returning anime continues the school sports romance built around badminton player Taiki Inomata and basketball standout Chinatsu Kano, with the streaming service scheduling the season as a weekly release.
How the Season 2 rollout works
The Japanese television broadcast is scheduled for Sundays at 4:30 p.m. on TBS. Netflix lists October 4 as the start of weekly streaming, placing its release alongside the new television run rather than holding the season until after the Japanese broadcast concludes.
For viewers, the key scheduling point is that October 4 begins an ongoing weekly rollout. The service is not presenting Season 2 as a complete-season launch on premiere day. Netflix has confirmed the weekly format, while TBS has set a recurring Sunday slot for the domestic broadcast.
The two releases make the new season available through distinct routes. TBS carries the series on Japanese television, and Netflix handles the streaming run. Both begin from the same October 4 premiere date, giving the return a coordinated starting point even though viewers will be watching through different platforms.
Season 2 arrives after the anime established Taiki and Chinatsu's shared routine through school, sport, and home life. The continuation keeps those parts of the premise together: their goals in badminton and basketball remain central to the story while their personal relationship develops around the time they spend near each other.
Why Taiki and Chinatsu share a home
Blue Box is set at Eimei High, an integrated junior and senior high school recognized for its sports programs. Taiki plays on the boys' badminton team. Chinatsu is one year ahead of him and plays for the girls' basketball team. He falls for her after seeing her regularly during early morning practice.
Their relationship changes when Chinatsu's parents move overseas. She moves into the Inomata household, turning the two students from familiar faces at practice into housemates. That arrangement puts their private lives close together, even as both continue dealing with schoolwork and the demands of competitive sport.
The premise gives Season 2 two connected threads to carry forward. Taiki and Chinatsu are pursuing separate athletic disciplines, so their schedules and ambitions do not simply merge when they begin living under one roof. At the same time, sharing a home changes the distance between them outside the gym and creates the personal tension that drives the romance.
The anime adapts Kouji Miura's manga, which ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump and concluded in July 2026. The series follows the characters through sports, studies, and changing feelings, using their morning-practice connection and new living arrangement as the foundation of the story.
With the October 4 premiere now underway, Blue Box Season 2 is set to continue through weekly television broadcasts on TBS and weekly episodes on Netflix.
