Black Clover Returns With Its New Second Season
Black Clover returned on October 3 with its officially titled second season airing on TV Tokyo in Japan and streaming internationally through Crunchyroll.

Black Clover returned on October 3, 2026, with the premiere of its officially titled second season. It began airing at 11 p.m. on TV Tokyo affiliates in Japan, while Crunchyroll released the first episode in most regions outside Japan.
Where the story resumes
The new season continues Asta's fight against the Dark Triad, the devil-powered rulers of the Spade Kingdom. The official story sets the conflict after Yami Sukehiro and William Vangeance have been abducted, leaving Asta and his allies to pursue a rescue. Asta, still the only person in his world without magic, must rely on anti-magic and enter a dangerous pact to draw out a devil's true power.
The official synopsis identifies the Dark Triad as hosts of underworld devils whose invasion is accelerating across the Heart and Clover Kingdoms. Queen Lolopechka is placed in danger in the Heart Kingdom, while Yami and Vangeance are taken from the Clover Kingdom.
That places the premiere directly inside an existing conflict rather than beginning another self-contained adventure. Viewers returning to the series should expect the Spade Kingdom struggle, the captured Magic Knight captains, and Asta's developing power to drive the immediate story. The official introduction presents the season as another large-scale magical battle built around Asta's refusal to give up.
The comeback follows a lengthy break in the televised story. Junichi Suwabe, the voice of Yami, described the narrative as moving again after five and a half years. The franchise's official site also says Yuki Tabata's manga ran through May 2026 and has passed 25 million copies in circulation worldwide.
Tabata said the completed manga's characters are reaching audiences around the world through animation again. In his message for the return, he highlighted the characters' appeal and the force of the magic battles as elements he was especially eager to see brought to the screen.
The returning team and cast
Studio Pierrot is handling animation production, with Ayataka Tanemura directing. Keiichiro Ochi oversees series composition, Itsuko Takeda is the character designer, Minako Seki provides the music, and Hajime Takakuwa serves as sound director. The announced staff gives the continuation an experienced core as it resumes the Dark Triad storyline.
Gakuto Kajiwara returns as Asta, with Nobunaga Shimazaki as Yuno, Suwabe as Yami, Kana Yuki as Noelle Silva, and Hiro Shimono as Nacht Faust. The larger cast also includes Nobuhiko Okamoto as Liebe, Rikiya Koyama as Dante Zogratis, Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Zenon Zogratis, and Yui Ogura as Vanica Zogratis.
The official site frames the second season as a major return for a series with a broad international audience. It says the television anime previously ranked first in viewership across 87 countries and regions, while the film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King reached second place on Netflix's weekly global top 10. The new release pairs Japanese television airing with international streaming.
For now, the confirmed return consists of the October 3 broadcast and international premiere. The revived story is centered on the Spade Kingdom threat, Asta's attempt to wield true devil power, and the effort to recover the captured captains.
