Anime NYC 2026 Unveils Macross Conference, Netflix Debuts, and Kagurabachi Screening
Anime NYC 2026 has revealed its programming lineup for August 20-23, featuring a Big West Macross conference, Netflix anime showcases, and the East Coast premiere of Kagurabachi Episode 1.

Anime NYC 2026 has unveiled its full programming slate for August 20-23 at the Javits Center in New York City. The convention, which expects over 150,000 attendees, will feature a Big West Macross conference, a Netflix anime showcase, and the East Coast premiere screening of Kagurabachi.
Netflix Takes the Main Stage
Netflix kicks things off on Thursday, August 20, with its anime showcase panel at 6:45 PM on the Main Stage. The panel will deliver exclusive debuts, sneak peeks, and surprises spanning several high-profile titles. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, Sakamoto Days Season 2, and LEGO One Piece headline the presentation, with additional unannounced anime projects also expected to make appearances.
LEGO One Piece - a two-part anime special - is currently slated for release on September 29, 2026, making the Anime NYC panel one of the final major preview windows before launch.
Big West Brings Macross to New York
Big West will host a dedicated Macross conference highlighting the franchise's merchandise pipeline and upcoming project updates. The panel also includes an English-subtitled screening of Macross Delta the Movie: Passionate Walkure, the 2018 compilation film featuring new scenes and songs not present in the original television series. For a franchise that spent decades entangled in international licensing disputes, the conference marks another step in Macross's growing Western presence.
Kagurabachi Episode 1 East Coast Premiere
One of the convention's biggest draws will be the East Coast premiere of Kagurabachi, screening the opening 20 minutes of Episode 1 as part of the series' ongoing World Tour. The Shueisha action manga has been one of the most anticipated anime adaptations in recent memory, and the Anime NYC screening gives East Coast fans their first look at the animated version ahead of its broader release.
English Dub World Premieres
Anime NYC will host two notable English dub premieres. The first episode of Go Forward - produced by SkySet Entertainment with a planned late summer 2026 release - will screen in its English-dubbed version, followed by a Q&A session with dub director Phebe Fabacher. Detective Conan: The Million-Dollar Pentagram, the 27th film in the long-running franchise and its highest-grossing entry to date, will also receive its English dub world premiere at the convention.
Guests, Concerts, and Special Events
The guest roster spans live-action and voice acting talent. Mackenyu and Taz Skylar from the Netflix One Piece live-action series will appear, alongside veteran voice actors Junko Takeuchi - the voice of Naruto - and Yuki Kaji, known for Attack on Titan. Additional programming includes a Kaiju No. 8 special featuring live dubbing, a Haikyu celebration panel, and voice actor spotlight sessions.
On the entertainment side, singer yama will make an East Coast debut performance, and VTuber Ironmouse will host Club Ironmouse. The convention is also debuting a Family Zone presented by Scholastic and an Anime NYC x X-Tracks Licensing Summit for industry professionals.
A Packed Four Days
Beyond panels and screenings, Anime NYC 2026 will feature cosplay contests, a Japanese food hall, an artist alley, indie gaming experiences, and the American Manga Awards. The convention runs through Sunday, August 23, at the Javits Center.
