Amane Kashiko's romantic comedy manga Everyone's Darling Has a Secret is getting a television anime that will begin airing in Japan in April 2027. The September 28 announcement also revealed a teaser visual, the main cast, and the production team.

The cast and story setup

The story follows Hiruno Hizashi, a serious first-year high school student who studies hard but lacks confidence, and his classmate Rei Kuromiya. Rei is regarded as an excellent student and is a celebrated member of the idol group Aiiro Impulse. When Hiruno discovers the secret she has kept from everyone else, the two begin spending time together after school.

Rei's public reputation is that of a rare genius idol, making the hidden side witnessed by Hiruno the key complication in their classmate relationship.

Reiji Kawashima will voice Hiruno, while Hikaru Tono plays Rei. Iori Noguchi, a member of =LOVE, voices Sakura Akai, the oldest member of Aiiro Impulse and a dependable presence around Rei. Ami Maejima plays Sora Konno, another group member whose easygoing manner is paired with a caring side. The teaser visual places Hiruno and Rei in a school corridor filled with falling cherry blossoms, framing the beginning of their changing relationship.

Published character profiles describe Hiruno as earnest but prone to overworking and Rei as a first-year student admired for both her looks and academic performance. Sakura has watched Rei's efforts as part of their group, while Sora's playful streak includes teasing her. Those dynamics broaden the adaptation beyond the central pair while keeping its focus on what happens after the secret is discovered.

The production team behind the anime

Hikaru Sato is directing the series at Gekkou. Fumihiko Shimo is handling series composition and scripts, Kibidango No. 14 is designing the characters, and Satoru Kosaki and MONACA are composing the music. Ryo Aizawa of Starry Cube is credited as producer. The announcement does not yet identify a broadcaster, streaming platform, or exact premiere date.

Comments from the cast emphasize the contrast between public image and private life at the center of the adaptation. Kawashima described Hiruno as someone who can take a difficult step for another person despite his lack of confidence. Tono highlighted Rei's effort to live up to expectations as a perfect idol while still being an ordinary high school girl experiencing unfamiliar emotions. Her comment also points to music performed by Aiiro Impulse as part of the anime's presentation.

Noguchi characterized Sakura as bright, supportive, and attentive to Rei's romance, while Maejima described Sora as direct, independent, and thoughtful toward her friends. Kashiko said the anime will add voices, sound, movement, singing, and dancing to the characters' after-school world, elements that could only be imagined on the manga page.

The manga continues to run on Hakusensha's Young Animal Web. The next confirmed milestone is the television anime's Japanese broadcast in April 2027, with further scheduling and distribution details still to come.
